From Felicity: I loved reading this book with Mason Lloyd. The characters inner conflict and yet deep draw to one another (while they fight their way through the crazy alien underworld) was a fun, deep, sexy and gritty romp.

Narrator Felicity Munroe's facility with shifts in tone and subtle, effective accents and pacing enlivens the characters in this fast-paced and fun listen, the tenth book in the Fatal series. Lt. Samantha Holland, gorgeous top homicide cop, and wife of the nation's hunky vice president, is serving a four-day suspension from the D.C. police force. She's even facing possible action by the U.S. Attorney when she's approached by a man who believes he was abducted as a baby by his father, who is the current FBI director. Narrator Felicity Munroe sells listeners on a planet where blue men mate with Earth women who have been rescued from alien abductions. Munroe portrays Lauren, a self-sufficient woman who makes the best of things, even being shipwrecked in a jungle below an active volcano. Munroe gives the prose an appealing smoothness. Lauren's thoughts about differences between Earth culture and her jungle survival adventure sound self-deprecating and amusing. As Lauren makes an emotional and sexual connection with K'Thar, her mate, Munroe's voice goes low and gentle. K'Thar's chapters are an equal treat as delivered by narrator Sean Crisden. He uses an accent to suggest K'Thar's language and mimics Lauren's pronunciations with proficiency. Background noises are noticeable and may not spoil this interplanetary frolic for some. A number of alliances are formed against common enemies. Munroe makes clear they are fragile and include an undercurrent of healthy distrust, but they are still convincing and effective.
